Seville, Spain

One of my favorite Places in Spain!

The big wooden canopy over the plaza — Las Setas (Metropol Parasol).

A short photo journal: getting around, the wooden skyline, river views, new bites, a night with music, and the people who made the stay.

Architecture and history

Indoor archaeological pit with geometric mosaic floor and partial stone columns at the Antiquarium under Las Setas in Sevilla.

Antiquarium (officially styled Antiqvarivm) beneath Las Setas / Metropol Parasol, using these details: it preserves Roman houses, mosaic floors, streets, and structural remains from roughly the 1st–6th centuries, plus an Islamic Almohad house from the 12th–13th centuries; it opened in 2011 after excavations finished; published hours are Tuesday–Saturday 10am–8pm and Sunday/holidays 10am–2pm, closed Mondays. Place the paragraph near the ruins photo (the Antiquarium photo with the mosaic floor and stone columns).

Visit date: July 2017.

New bites

Glass bowl of cooked snails with a hand holding one shell toward the camera

Yes — snails….. actually wasn’t that bad. After watching kids eat them for a few weeks, I thought I should give snails and a few other dishes a try.
Spanish bar counter with wine rack, hanging glasses, and a napkin holder reading Puente de Triana Sevilla

At the bar — napkin holder reads “PUENTE DE TRIANA SEVILLA.”
